Since I was a little boy, I have been fascinated by colourful maps. My parents told me that those different shapes with different colour on the map means different places, they are home to different people, and boast unique scenery. My parents also took me to travel with them, and we embarked on the years of journey to see the world. Truly, I have witnessed diverse natural landscapes and experienced various cultural styles in different place in China and abroad. And then I began to draw my hometown as well as the places I had visited with my crayons, and also dreamed to travel around the world.

I took courses such as Physical Geography and Human Geography in middle school and high school. As I studied, I developed an increasingly strong interest in the world and the environment around us. I began to review and organize the pictures from my past travels, and tried to write down something interesting, and planned to document what I had seen through a combination of pictures and text.

My hand-draw Map of Yunnan and some photos of places in Yunnan.

I once witnessed the magnificent Hani Terraces in the Ailao Mountain area in Yunnan. I also boarded a small train that winds through mountains and rivers in Yunnan, experiencing this transportation tool with distinct regional characteristics. At Meiling, which is the border of Guangdong and Jiangxi, I felt the transitional features of nature and climate embodied by this geographical boundary. As a student, I joined an expedition team and visited various locations along the West River basin, observing the connection between the geographical environment and humanistic development reflected in historical population migrations in Guangdong and Guangxi.

These pictures, maps, and texts have become the marks of the gradual deepening of my geographical knowledge and understanding. This website serves as the starting point for me to explore the world, presenting the growth process of my geographical knowledge.
